Annual St. Nicholas Day Boutique

In the Old Pascua Yaqui Village

December 6, 2026 from 1 pm to 3 pm

At the Richey Resource Center, 2209 15th Ave., Tucson

History: For over 15 years, Episcopal Parishes in Tucson have participated in the annual Children's Christmas Shopping Event where children from the the Old Pascua community can "shop" for their family members (at no cost) and then have the gifts wrapped and ready for them to take home. I am seeking participation in the form of Prayers, Volunteers, and Donations from the people of Grace St. Paul's for this joyful event.

Here are some ways you can participate:

  • Parish prayers for Pascua Yaqui Children: The Flower World (yo a’nia) is sometimes translated as what Christians might know as heaven. So we have chosen flowers, butterflies, and hummingbirds as the Prayer Card for each child. Prior to the event, please choose a child to pray for by selecting their name. Write a short message, return it with their name to by Nov. 29th, and it will be given to the child at the Boutique. Please pick up your prayer flowers after Church (both services) on Sundays through November 15th.

  • Volunteer on December 5th from 3 pm to 5 pm to set up and/or on December 6th at the Boutique for gift wrapping, boutique table “sales” people, hospitality, and shoe stuffers to put gift bags in children’s shoes while they shop.

  • Donate new unwrapped gifts. Items requested are:

    • Special Toiletries (please not from the Dollar Store)

    • Socks, handkerchiefs, headbands, dressy scarves. Flower scarves are often appreciated by the ceremony participants.

    • Knick Knacks for the home (little animals like dogs, cats, bunnies, deer, & birds).

    • Kitchen towels, aprons, and kitchen accessories.

    • Towels and Blanket Throws (really popular)

    • Shopping accessories like shopping baskets, bags, carts

    • Small stuffed toys (“stuffies” or stuffed animals)

Please contact Dale Ann Petersen for more information or if you have any questions. Thank you.
